Hospital Care for Children

The pediatric inpatient unit at Christiana Hospital is specially designed for children and adolescents who need to stay overnight in the hospital. Patients at ChristianaCare's Pediatric Inpatient Unit will now be treated by Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) clinicians. This partnership brings nationally recognized pediatric expertise closer to home, for the moments that matter most.

The unit is equipped to provide acute, general pediatric care, including treatment of newborns and children with:

Breathing problems
Dehydration requiring IV fluids
Infections or diseases that require isolation or antibiotics
Need for short duration monitoring after surgery or trauma
Jaundice requiring phototherapy
Behavioral health concerns
