Adult Volunteer Program

• If you are an adult (non-student) and have not volunteered with us before, you are required to complete the first 4 steps outlined below for NEW volunteers. Only apply if you are available to begin volunteering during the next month. Otherwise, please wait to apply when you are available to volunteer.
• If you have previously participated in the volunteer program and completed a minimum of 100 hours, please e-mail us to discuss next steps. PLEASE DO NOT RE-APPLY!

Process for New Volunteers

The steps outlined below must be completed by January 23, 2026. Applications received after this date will NOT be processed.

1. APPLICATION: Complete the online Adult Volunteer Application.
2. REQUIRED PAPERWORK: Please complete each form below using the link provided: Please be sure to include your driver’s license and social security numbers on the paperwork where required. If you do not have one, please indicate NA in the appropriate place on the form.
   • Volunteer Agreement.
   • Confidentiality Security Agreement.
   • Immunization Form.
   • Adult Abuse Registry.
   • Child Abuse Registry Form (must be completed online, saved, and returned via Email or fax (302-733-3417)).
3. CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECK: Please complete all the required fields in the PreCheck Release Form so we may complete your criminal background check if you are selected to volunteer.
   • PLEASE NOTE: After you have filled in your personal information, you must complete the disclosure form at the end which requires you to sign with the mouse. Your form will not be submitted until this step is completed.
4. PHOTO: If you are accepted into the program, we will need a headshot photo for your ID badge (see parameters below). To streamline the process, you may send the photo now via email to Volunteer@christianacare.org. If you are not accepted, all photos will be discarded.
   • Photos must be headshots only with a plain background (JPG or PNG format).
   • No head coverings, hats, or masks except for those worn for religious purposes.

Next Steps

5. Once the 4 steps above have been completed and we are in receipt of your application, paperwork, and PreCheck Release form, we will contact you to continue with the next steps in the process which consist of:
6. Attending an interview session: A link will be emailed to you to schedule your interview session. Interview sessions will be held in September, October, and November and will resume again in January.
7. Completing medical requirements:
   • Must provide results or obtain a tuberculin test (results must be dated within the last 12 months).
   • Please provide proof of COVID vaccination if you have been vaccinated. This is not required.
   • Please provide proof of Flu vaccination (during flu season Oct-Mar) or submit a declination form by using this link FY26 Flu Form.
8. Completing Volunteer Day One Orientation: A link will be emailed to you to complete your orientation.
